If you messaged a business that uses Nia
Nia holds your conversation on behalf of the business whose WhatsApp number you wrote to. Ask that business to erase it; they can do so from inside Nia. If you do not know how else to reach them, write to the same WhatsApp number you used.
If you are that business
- Open Settings, then Data & privacy. Every business has this page from the day it signs up.
- Raise a privacy request for the contact, decide it, and execute it.
- Erasure replaces the content of the person's messages with a redaction marker, removes the phone number and email from the contact record, and minimises the usage records that pointed to it. The record can no longer be traced back to the person.
- The same page holds your retention policy. The automatic retention sweep is off unless you switch it on, so until you do, Nia deletes nothing of its own accord — erasing a particular person's data is the step above, and you can take it whether or not the sweep is on.
- If you do switch the sweep on, set the periods you want first: from then on Nia deletes what is past them, every day, without asking again.
Closing an account
To close a business account, ask through the support contact published in your Nia workspace, or ask the person who owns your Nia account to do so. Nia removes the business's data on request when the account is closed.
Contact
Questions about a business's data go to that business. Questions for Nia itself go through the support contact published in your Nia workspace; if your business has not set one, ask the person who owns your Nia account.
